Raising Self-Esteem

Overcoming Life’s Challenges

I use the phrase “climbing mountains” to discuss big challenges we must overcome. I also like recognizing the smaller challenges we face daily and how we overcome them. The name “Climbing Hills Counseling” represents my passion for supporting women in the small (and big) life challenges they might face.

Are you having trouble focusing?

Do you feel overwhelmed by all your roles in life?

Do you feel disconnected from your partner?

Reach Your Full Potential

Feel more confident by exploring your strengths and weaknesses.

Hi, I am Dr. Lauren Chase, the founder of Climbing Hills Counseling. I help high-achieving women and girls raise their self-esteem, overcome anxiety and self-doubt, and reach their full potential.

Sit Down and Vent

Come sit down on your favorite chair, grab a cup of coffee or tea, and let’s talk about the stress with work, friends, school, or relationships you have been experiencing.

Balancing multiple roles and responsibilities can be so exhausting!

Whether you are in your favorite workout leggings or business casual trousers, we can work together towards your goals.

Surviving and Not Thriving

As a fellow beautifully anxious person, I understand what it is like to exist in constant survival mode until the next challenge and not enjoying your accomplishments because it is hard to feel “good enough.”

Take a deep breath.

Focus on yourself.

Let’s work together to fight that anxiety, people-pleasing, and that bully in your head telling you that you’re just not “enough.”

Push Yourself

Feel joy again.

I believe that you can overcome your challenges and be your true self, but sometimes we need a little guidance and push up the hill.

Once we understand, “how” and “why” we do what we do, we can become brave enough to break these patterns and start living life differently.

Deal with that stuff you’ve been pushing aside.

Be You

I believe in approachability, authenticity, and empowerment in the counseling process.

Feel comfortable coming as you are.

Bring your whole self to the session.

Throughout the counseling process, you will feel empowered to work towards those goals you have been pushing to the side.

Feel Heard

Be more productive at work.

We want you to feel heard, understood, and valued.

We can work on crafting that perfect speech to your boss or partner to express your wants or needs or help you set stronger boundaries with your children.

Your experiences and perspectives (big or small) matter.

I am an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist committed to social justice and diversity in all forms.

You can achieve your goals, improve your quality of life, and heal by gaining deeper insight and self-awareness.

Please feel free to reach out via phone or email with any questions you may have about me or the therapy process before scheduling your first appointment.

Savor life’s small moments.

If this resonates with you, let’s set up a meeting to work towards breaking these patterns.

Our Services

  • Consultations

The first step is to schedule a free, 15-minute casual phone consultation before scheduling your first appointment. During this call, I can answer your questions about my counseling approach and professional experience.

  • Counseling

Counseling is a form of self-care designed to give you time to learn, grow, and heal. Going to counseling does not mean that you have a mental health diagnosis or that you are "crazy". This is a tough decision for you, but the process can be helpful in learning more about yourself. I understand you may be nervous to start, and my goal is to make this process as comfortable as possible.

  • Training and Workshops

I have over six years of experience in public speaking at the local, state, and national levels. My presentations and workshops are applicable, relevant, and interactive. I offer this service to anyone looking to learn more about a topic related to child mental health, social justice, self-care, empathy, and play therapy. You can request a presentation or workshop for your family, community groups, organizations, or company.

FAQs

How long do I need to be in therapy?

The number of sessions varies based on your needs and goals. Following the initial intake appointment, we will collaboratively decide what you need and how we can meet your goals in and outside of therapy.

How do we get started?

Click on the button below to provide your information, call 336-600-4455, or email lauren@climbinghillscounseling.com to see if I fit your needs. I can't wait to hear from you.

What is the cost per session?

My self-pay rate is comparable to other therapists with similar experience and background. My session rate for an intake assessment is $180, and the following sessions are $150. I believe therapy should be accessible and have reserved spots for sliding scale.

Do you accept insurance?

I bill through Headway and am in-network with Aetna, Cigna, Optum/United, BCBS, Oscar, and Oxford. If I am out of network with your insurance provider, I can provide you with the necessary paperwork (superbill) to file with your insurance provider for possible partial or full reimbursement. I encourage you to check with your provider regarding reimbursement. I do accept HSA/FSA cards.

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item.

You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
