Dr. Lauren Chase

I became a mental health counselor because I am passionate about helping people discover their inner strength, even during life’s toughest moments. Personal growth, to me, is like nurturing a tree. We may not see it flourish overnight, but together, we can strengthen the roots by exploring your past and watering the branches through self-care and meaningful change. My goal is to provide you with tools and support that last a lifetime, whether you’re navigating a current challenge or building toward a brighter future.

I earned my PhD in Counselor Education from UNC Charlotte, a journey that has allowed me to wear many hats as a teacher, practitioner, and supervisor. This variety keeps my work fresh and deeply rewarding. I am also a trained play therapist with a rich understanding of child development. During the pandemic, I developed a passion for supporting women and moms. Now, I combine my expertise in child and adult development to empower clients at every stage of life.

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina (#13620), a Professional Counselor Telehealth Provider in South Carolina (#1249), a National Certified Counselor (#886381), and a Certified Tele-Mental Health Provider (#3522). I am also Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C), which means I have specific training to support moms through pregnancy, postpartum, and all the identity shifts that come with parenthood.

Since 2017, I have worked with people from all walks of life in private practice, schools, and community settings. I specialize in helping women navigate perfectionism, burnout, impostor syndrome, parenting challenges, and self-worth struggles. Whether you are in survival mode or ready to grow, I will meet you where you are with compassion, honesty, and practical tools to help you move forward.

My Approach

I help high-achieving women who are tired of feeling like they’re not enough, even when they’re doing everything “right.” If you're struggling with self-doubt, identity shifts, or the pressure of balancing parenting and perfection, you're not alone, and you don’t have to figure it all out by yourself.

In therapy, our relationship is the foundation. This is not just a space to talk. It’s a space where you will feel genuinely understood, supported, and challenged in a way that helps you grow. I show up with warmth, honesty, and practical tools you can actually use in your daily life.

Together, we will work through the anxious thoughts that keep you up at night, the inner critic that will not quiet down, and the moments you feel like you have lost yourself in all the roles you play. Whether you are navigating parenting stress, rediscovering who you are, or building self-confidence, we will take real, meaningful steps to help you feel more grounded, more confident, and more like you again.

Who I Am

Clients often tell me they feel genuinely seen, supported, and safe in our work together, and that means everything to me. I show up as my authentic self so you can feel comfortable showing up as yours, without judgment or pressure.

I know what it’s like to carry the weight of high expectations while trying to hold everything together. My own journey through therapy and through the ups and downs of being a high-achieving woman has deeply shaped how I show up for others. I bring empathy, realness, and compassion into every session, creating a space where you don’t have to be “on,” just honest, open, and human.

Outside of work, I enjoy hiking and peaceful walks in nature, experimenting with new recipes, traveling with my partner, and spending time with my dog and cat, who always bring joy to my life.
